VENTURA — After more than five years in the making, the City of Ventura is excited to unveil the draft General Plan, a community-driven roadmap that will guide future growth, housing, transportation, environmental sustainability, and quality of life in Ventura through the year 2050.
To kick off the public review process, the City will host an Open House on Thursday, May 1, inviting residents, business owners, and community members to learn more, ask questions, and provide feedback on the draft plan.

“The General Plan is more than a document, it’s a blueprint for our City’s future,” said Community Development Director Rachel Dimond. “We’re proud to reach this milestone and are eager to hear from our residents as we shape Ventura’s next chapter together.”
The draft General Plan will be available online beginning the week of April 21 at www.planventura.com, where community members can review the document and find information about upcoming opportunities for public participation throughout the review period. The public comment period will remain open for
approximately two months.
Community input has been vital throughout this process, and continued feedback will help ensure the final plan reflects Ventura’s shared vision for a vibrant, inclusive, and sustainable future.

Borrador del Plan General listo para revisión pública: acompáñanos este 1 de mayo
VENTURA – – Después de más de cinco años de trabajo colaborativo, la Ciudad de Ventura se complace en presentar el borrador del Plan General impulsado por la comunidad que orientará el crecimiento futuro de la ciudad en temas como vivienda, transporte, sostenibilidad ambiental y calidad de vida hasta el año 2050.
Para dar inicio al proceso de revisión pública, la Ciudad organizará una jornada informativa el jueves 1 de mayo, donde se invita a residentes, empresarios y miembros de la comunidad a conocer más sobre el plan, hacer preguntas y compartir sus comentarios.

“El Plan General es más que un documento; es una guía para el futuro de nuestra ciudad,” expresó Rachel Dimond, directora del Departamento de Desarrollo Comunitario. “Nos sentimos orgullosos de alcanzar esta etapa clave del proceso y estamos muy interesados en escuchar a nuestros residentes mientras construimos juntos el próximo capítulo de Ventura.”
El borrador del Plan General estará disponible en línea a partir 16 de abril en www. planventura.com, donde la comunidad podrá revisar el documento y encontrar información sobre futuras oportunidades departicipación durante el periodo de consulta pública, el cual se extenderá por aproxima-damente dos meses.
La participación comunitaria ha sido fundamental en cada etapa del proceso, y su continuidad es clave para asegurar que el plan final refleje la visión compartida de un futuro vibrante, inclusivo y sostenible para Ventura.
