SANTA MARIA — The Annual SAINTS Talent Show at Santa Maria High School will be March 8th inside the historic Ethel Pope Auditorium, at 901 S. Broadway.
The event, which is organized by the school’s Drama Club students, features 85 students and faculty. The performers include pianists, guitar players, dancers, singers in English and Spanish and our administrator/faculty rock band “No Class.”
Drama Club President Jenna Aranda stated, “I think this year’s drama club talent show is going to be phenomenal. We’ve been getting lots of outstanding and talented singers, dancers and musicians!”
Abigail Ardenio added, “Drama Club is really fun. I like the days we work on our improv and responding to each other in different scenarios that make us think and act at the same time. I’m looking forward to the talent show to work behind the scenes with the lighting.”
Drama Club Advisor Glenn Goldin said research shows that students considered to be high risk for dropping out of high school reference drama and other arts classes as their incentives for staying in school.
“This Drama Club and talent show offer invaluable time for artistic expression while at the same time helps form friendships that are life changing,’’ he added. “We feel very lucky to be a part of these talented students’ lives.”
Pre-sale tickets can be purchased at the school’s business office or at the door for $5. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
