OXNARD — OC LIVE@Oxnard College will present a “International Women’s Day” event at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, March 8 at the Oxnard College Performing Arts Center, 4000 S. Rose Ave., Oxnard.
Many women experience a playing field at work that is anything but level. Gender equality is a long way off at most US Companies. While close to 52% of professional jobs are held by women, it’s estimated that women won’t achieve leadership equality until 2085. Yes, 2085! On March 8, International Women’s Day, our OC LIVE event will feature speakers sharing successful tools for navigating work in unequal environments. This event will also discuss the gifts and abilities that both women and men bring to create more equal, effective, and successful workplaces.
Two motivating and distinct speakers will share their experiences successfully working in male dominated industries. One will add a discussion about the challenges of socio-economic status, race, and (dis)ability in college and the workplace, and the other is a life coach and will discuss successful tools for women and men.
