March 7 — Meadowlark Service League Hosts a Spring Charity Luncheon and Tennis & Pickleball Tournament

CAMARILLO — Join the Meadowlark Service League at Las Posas Country Club on Monday, March 7, for their annual Tennis and Pickleball Tournament, accompanied by the outdoor Spring Charity Luncheon, as well as a Silent Auction and boutique which is open to the public. The ladies of the Meadowlarks have been working to create opportunities to raise funds that will continue to benefit the many charities that their events support. “As we look back on the challenges of the past few years, and how many curveballs were thrown our way, I am proud of how resilient the Meadowlark Service League has been through it all” noted longtime Meadowlark and event chair, Gwen Speakes, “and we are so excited to be able to host this luncheon and tournament.”

The tennis and pickleball tournament will be a women’s doubles with partner round-robin tournament and will be played at both Spanish Hills and Las Posas Country Club courts, from 8:30 to 11:30 am. To participate, players must pre-register online at meadowlarkserviceleague.org. Space will be limited, so it is important to register as soon as you can. The luncheon will be held from 10:30  am – 2:30 pm, and registration is available at the Meadowlark website. For those looking to shop at the Boutique and Silent Auction, the doors are open from 10:30 am – 3:30 pm, and open to the public with no fee or reservation required.

The Meadowlarks usually host three major fundraisers each year.  The upcoming Charity Luncheon and Tennis/Pickleball Tournament, “A Taste of Camarillo” Festival and Gala, and “Homes for the Holidays” Home Tour and Boutique. While these events were significantly impacted by COVID over the past two years, the charity organization has been able to create unique ways to raise funds for the many local nonprofits and scholarship recipients the Meadowlarks support.

Pictures of events, past luncheons, and members are available upon request.
