OXNARD — The Oxnard Performing Arts Center Corporation (OPAC) is presenting its first music festival, LOS FEST, on Saturday, March 5, 2022 from 12 noon to 11 pm, in conjunction with Numbskull Shows. The event features 3-stages spotlighting local and regional talent covering a wide range of genres, from the 70’s power pop/punk sound of Ventura’s TV Party and the sludgy indie punk of Romper to Los Hurricanes, serving up Chicano Soul from Orange County, and the Afro-centric house music of DJ Legacy.
The lineup includes:
Bent · Bonnie Boy · Boy/Girl · Cola Boyy (DJ set) · Deepakalypse · Dielectric · Dummy · Head Cut · Kiah Victoria· Legacy (DJ set) · Los Cool Arrows · Los Honeys · Los Hurricanes · Los Mixos · Los So Lows · Mystic Misfit · Poncho and The Wizards · Romper · The Panes · TV Party · Velvet Lune · VTB… and more to be announced!
The family-friendly event also features local artists, food, drinks, speakers, workshops, interactive activities such as an Oracle Room and ‘Make-Your-Own Pins & Patches’ and much more.
“There are a plethora of bands whose names start with ‘Los’ (‘The’ in Spanish) in Oxnard and Ventura County. The concept for the fest began as a running joke between our staff, but in the end we felt like there was something to this idea,” comments OPAC Executive Director, Carolyn Mullin. “There’s a fest I used to attend in Florida called ‘The Fest’ which also had a small start but has now become a city-wide affair, bringing in over 800 bands! Maybe that’s the future of this fest! With Numbskull Shows, one of the largest concert promoters in California, as a co-presenter it’s certainly a possibility.”
