March 29 — Ventura County Fire Dept. honoring Fire Engineer Tommy Minadeo

 

WESTLAKE VILLAGE — On Saturday, March 29, 2025, at 12:00 p.m., the fire service community will come together to honor and celebrate the life of Ventura County Fire Engineer Tommy Minadeo.

Engineer Tommy Minadeo, 32, of Ventura, was diagnosed with job-related cancer in October and had been undergoing chemotherapy before passing away on Friday, March 7.

In honor of his dedication and sacrifice, a full firefighter honors tribute will be held, recognizing his unwavering commitment to the community.

He is survived by his mother, Diana Minadeo; his fiancé, Vanessa Gubbels; his brother, Anthony; and his sister, Jackie Minadeo-Spittler. Together, they mourn his loss and support one another during this difficult time.

The event will feature:

Sea of Blue – Firefighters standing at attention for the family’s arrival

Bell Ceremony – The symbolic ringing of the last alarm

Pipes & Drums and Honor Guard – A tradition of remembrance

Flag Ceremony – A solemn tradition

The Ventura County Fire Department and Tommy’s family invite the public to join in this solemn yet uplifting tribute to a firefighter who gave so much to his community.
