VENTURA — After two years of Zoom services, Unity of Ventura has returned to in-person gatherings. Its March 27 service will feature the Rev. TJ Woodward, author and founding minister of Agape Bay Area in Oakland. Services are at 10:00 a.m. every Sunday at the Santa Paula Room in the Poinsettia Pavilion (3451 Foothill Rd., Ventura).
Woodward is a bestselling author, inspirational speaker and recovery expert who is the creator of The Conscious Recovery Method for treating addiction. He speaks with wisdom, humor and insight.
Woodward’s topic is “The Freedom of Spirit.” “With so much happening in our country and in our world,” says Woodward. “It is more important than ever for those of us who are dedicated to living as conscious beings to come together to explore how we can transform ourselves and stay in the frequency of love and gratitude regardless of outer circumstances.”
Music during the service is provided by Smitty and Juljia West, Ojai, California-based artists known worldwide for their soothing sounds and paired vocal harmonies.
Unity invites people of all faiths and beliefs to its services. It provides aloving and accepting environment that inspires personal and spiritual growth.
Following the service is fellowship time with coffee/tea and snacks on the patio overlooking the ocean. “The Poinsettia Pavilion, high in the Ventura hills, with a magnificent panoramic view of the Pacific Ocean, is truly awesome,” says Noelle Nelson, a long-time Unity of Ventura member. “This is a marvelous first step, as we are once more able to gather together in prayer, in song, and in fellowship, live and in person.”
