CAMARILLO — The Camarillo Chamber of Commerce will honor Max Copenhagen as “Man of the year” on March 24th. He is a prominent community leader, and is the Senior Hydrologist and Project Manager at Hasan Consultants, a Ventura Civil and Environmental engineering firm.
Mohammed Hasan, principal of the engineering firm, says, “Max’s dedication to public service is outstanding. He has donated many valuable hours through Rotary serving those that are underserved. He rightfully deserves this award. All of us at Hasan Consultants are proud of him.”
The event, Camarillo’s 50th top ten community awards, will be at Serra Center, Padre Serra Parish, 5205 Upland Road, Camarillo, at 6 p.m. on March 24th. Tickets are available at the Chamber at (805) 484-4383.
Copenhagen’s community involvement has been extensive. He is currently the President of Pleasant Valley Historical Society, Secretary of Camarillo Rotary club and Co-chair of Rotary’s Steps to eliminate poverty.Rotary International has honored him as a Paul Harris fellow.
Copenhagen has over 30 years of professional experience in watershed management, including assessment, planning and restoration of areas affected by fire and floods. He graduated with a BS from Humboldt State University and holds an MS degree from University of California, Berkeley. He is a certified hydrologist by the American Institute of Hydrology. Copenhagen served as the deputy forest supervisor, San Bernardino National Forest in San Bernardino. He was Hydrologist for US Forest service in Alaska, Washington, D.C. and California and published many technical papers. Copenhagen grew up in Southern California, was commissioned in the U.S. Army and served two years on active duty. He is married to Donna and lives in Camarillo.
