SAN LUIS OBISPO COUNTY — Lumina Alliance is hosting its 2nd annual fundraiser, Lumina Nights, on Saturday, March 18th, at Rava Winery in Paso Robles. The gala will feature a special performance from the 2022 Atascadero Dancing with Our Stars— a concept the agency plans to fully implement in 2024. This exciting event will raise funds to support those impacted by sexual and intimate partner violence in San Luis Obispo County.

Guests at Lumina Nights will enjoy live entertainment, exciting live and silent auctions, gourmet food, and premium wines and beverages. Shining Light awards will be presented to honor those community members and agency partners who have shown leadership in their dedication to survivors of sexual and intimate partner violence.

The Hero Award recognizes someone who has played a vital role in supporting the work of Lumina Alliance over the past year. This year we have three Hero award recipients- Mark M. Haley and Adriana and Steve Hin. Mark is a Cal Poly Health Services Physician Assistant who has worked on our Crisis & Information line since 2010. He provides empathetic, compassionate, and trauma-informed support for survivors in our community.

Adriana & Steve Hin

Adriana Hin is a Client Advocate with Lumina Alliance. She and her husband, Steve, have worked tirelessly and invested countless hours over the last two years to redecorate the lobbies and common spaces at the Lumina Alliance offices and make the offices warm and inviting for visitors. Their time and efforts have directly impacted clients and staff, ensuring Lumina Alliance is an environment people want to visit.

The Martin Family

The Supporter Award honors a business, individual, or grantor who supports ongoing services for local survivors by providing financial or in-kind donations over an extended period or in a pivotal way showing community leadership in the effort to end sexual and intimate partner violence. This year the Supporter Award is being presented to The Martin Family Foundation. The Martin Family Foundation is a family-run foundation based in San Luis Obispo. As long-time donors to both RISE and Stand Strong, they have demonstrated an ongoing commitment to supporting high-quality services for survivors. Their financial contributions have been pivotal to enhancing the many programs and services of Lumina Alliance and other nonprofits in our community.

HASLO

The Ally Award is presented to an organization that empowers victims to heal from trauma and transform their lives through their partnership or with the services they provide. Since 1968 The Housing Authority of San Luis Obispo (HASLO) has been committed to improving the communities of San Luis Obispo County by providing quality, affordable housing, and resident services.

Elaine Archer, HASLO.

They are a frequent partner of Lumina Alliance and work closely with our advocates to transition clients out of emergency shelter or transitional housing into affordable, long-term housing so they can build a safe and stable future for themselves and their families.
