LOMPOC — The Lompoc Family YMCA concluded its 2016 Annual Campaign with a Victory Celebration on March 3 at Sage Restaurant. The Victory Event, attended by more than 65 volunteers and staff, showcased the YMCA surpassing its Annual Campaign goal of $100,000 while also recognizing the 2016 Honorary Chairs.

The Lompoc Family YMCA set a goal of $100,000 for this year’s annual campaign, and raised $101,359. During the Victory Event, the Y recognized Imerys Mineral’s California Inc and Richard and Joan Barrett as the 2016 Honoary Chairs. The campaign was co-chaired by Ann Bockius and Kay Casey

“We are extremely grateful for the generosity of our members and community partners, who share our comm to strengthening the foundation of our community, “ said Tommy Speidel, Executive Director.

During the celebration, the Y recognized top fundraisers for the branch. More than 75 volunteers helped to participate in the fundraising campaign. Every dollar raised in the annual campaign goes to scholarships which help kids and families in need access YMCA programs such as summer day camp, teen development, senior fitness, sports, afterschool care, the LIVESTRONG cancer survivor program, and memberships

“The funds raised in our Annual Campaign help us to ensure a brighter future for all. Thanks to our volunteers and donors, we are able to offer financial assistance and vital services to those who need it most, ensuring everyone has the opportunity to become healthy, confident and connected to their community,” said Speidel.
