Local colleges, CSUCI closed due to Ventura County region brush fires. Public schools also announced closures. Resources available

VENTURA COUNTY — Oxnard College closed its campus at noon Friday due the the Woolsey/Hill; brush fires.

Moorpark College has canceled Friday classes as a result of the Woolsey Fire and related events. The Board of Trustees, Chancellor Gillespie, President Sanchez, and Moorpark, Oxnard, and Ventura colleges are following the situation and keeping students, faculty, and staff informed. Updated information is available on District and college social media platforms and websites.

Health Center professionals continue to provide valuable resources for students, staff, and faculty. Center information is as follows:

Students can also access information through the student portal. Friday hours may be extended.

CSU Channel Islands announces closure for Nov. 9

CAMARILLO — CSU Channel Islands was also closed Friday, Nov. 9 due to the Hill Fire and ongoing poor air quality on campus. All classes and activities have been canceled for Friday, Nov. 9.

The university ordered a mandatory evacuation of the campus due to the Santa Rosa fire on Thursday.
