> The Economic Development Collaborative-Ventura County has announced a free listing in 805CONNECT. 805connect is a comprehensive database created to provide an official directory and networking platform to connect all businesses in the 805 area code.

More than a simple business directory, 805connect provides a single place for businesses, private organizations, public entities, entrepreneurs and nonprofits, as well as educational institutions, to have visibility and connect within the regional business community. It is designed to provide insight into the people behind the businesses in the region, the organization reported in a media release.

> The California Employment Development Department will present a ‘Farmworker Fair — Faria Campesino’ from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 7 at the EDD’s West Oxnard Job & Career Center, 636 S. Ventura Road, Oxnard, the organization reported.

More than 30 agencies with information and resources to assist farm workers are scheduled to participate.

Sponsored by the EDD, the Workforce Investment Board of Ventura County and the Center for Employment Training.

 

> Registration is continuing for the seminar ‘Jobs for Our Future to be held from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 11 at the Ventura College Performing Arts Center, 4700 Loma Vista Road, Ventura. Learn how business, education, government and labor are working together statewide and nationally to prepare for economic prosperity in the 21st century. Guest speakers include Kish Rajan, director of Go-Biz; Harold Edwards, CEO of Limoneira; Lucy Dunn, president and CEO of the Orange County Business Council; John Ratzenberger, host of ‘Made in America,’ and Mike Soules, president of Corwin K-12 Publisher. The NCMA Workshop ‘Managing Costs and Risks in International Trade’ will be held Friday, Sept. 19 at the Radisson Hotel, 9777 Topanga Canyon Blvd, Chatsworth.
