SACRAMENTO — Assemblymember Monique Limón (D – Santa Barbara) issued the following statement on the State of the State Address presented today by Governor Jerry Brown.
I congratulate Governor Brown on his last State of the State address of an incredibly prolific career. Through his years of service, the Governor has kept California on a path of leadership on the environment, on new technology and on progressive policies. In the wake of a terrible recession, California has rebuilt—a healthy job growth and a flourishing of entrepreneurial pursuits. It is important that with this growth, we ensure that the rising tide raises all of the boats in our communities.
My community in particular has had to face what can seem like insurmountable challenges, but through the hard work of so many people—from our first responders and firefighters to Caltrans, California Highway Patrol (CHP) and the nonprofits who have come to our aid—and with the support of our Governor and Legislature, we are on the road to recovery.
Monique Limón represents the 37th Assembly District which includes Santa Barbara, Ventura, Goleta, Carpinteria, Ojai, Santa Paula, Fillmore, Buellton, Solvang, Summerland, Isla Vista, Montecito and parts of Oxnard.
