Limitless Possibilities Await at SBCC’s School of Extended Learning This Spring

SBCC is pleased to announce the launch of the first schedule of classes for the now fully-integrated School of Extended Learning. The colorful and easy-to-read Spring 2018 schedule, which is now available online, at local libraries and over 200 other locations in Santa Barbara County, describes hundreds of class offerings in dozens of subject areas.
Adults throughout the Santa Barbara area will have the opportunity to enrich their life skills, learn a new craft (or hone an old one), advance career skills, get a high school diploma or achieve any number of personal, professional or educational goals. Many classes are tuition-free, while some have fees attached.
In response to community feedback through the Extended Learning Ambassador Program, popular classes continue to be offered, in addition to such new courses as “Small Space Gardening,” “Social Media for Business,” and “Socrates Revealed Through Plato’s Dialogs.”
The majority of Extended Learning classes are held at the Schott and Wake campuses, although many English as a Second Language classes are offered at local schools. For a few courses, locations such as the Museum of Natural History, the Santa Barbara Sailing Center and the Santa Barbara Museum of Art become learning environments as well. To accommodate busy adult schedules, day, evening and Saturday classes are offered.
Registration for Spring 2018 begins December 12 for most classes. For more information and to view an online copy of the Spring 2018 School of Extended Learning schedule of classes, click here. To visit the School of Extended Learning website, click here.
