L.A. author, professor to speak on popular music along U.S.-Mexico border on Oct. 13 in Ventura

VENTURA — L.A. author, academic, and music critic, Josh Kun will present the program “Across Cultural Divides” at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 13 at the Museum of Ventura County, 100 E. Main St., Ventura, in the Museum’s Martin V. and Martha K. Smith Pavilion.

Associate professor of communication and journalism at the Annenberg School at USC,  Professor Kun specializes in the arts and politics of cultural connection. His recent exhibition and companion book, Songs in the Key of LA at the Los Angeles Public Library was very well-received, museum officials reported. Kun will speak on the topic of popular music along the US-Mexico border.
