RECAP: Psychedelic Playhouse in Denver @ MAPS Psychedelic Science Conference

TUESDAY, JUNE 17 – PLANT MAGIC CAFE
Tuesday night, we stepped into the portal. The Psychedelic Playhouse at Plant Magic Cafe was pure magic—lush lighting, a live painter, sponsors, community partners, and the vibe guided by Kat Walsh and DJ Rev that invited us all to soften, and expand. Upstairs, the ceremony room was standing room only for the Psych-Tank pitch event, where three startups competed for a cash prize and mentorship by the judges. Diego Ugalde’s Warriorside followed with powerful personal stories from first responders & veterans; and Carly Dutch-Greene’s Psychedelic Networking Hour brought deep connection to close out the room. Meanwhile, down on the porch, Brent Pella had a packed crowd laughing to his psychedelic comedy set. The energy came alive at Plant Magic Cafe. This wasn’t just a party—it was a choose-your-own-adventure of sound, soul, and community. Guests arrived curious and left lit up, connected, and fully expressed. And this… was only the beginning. ?

WEDNESDAY, JUNE 18 – JONAS BROTHERS BLDG
Wednesday night, the Psychedelic Playhouse leveled up. We sold out, with over 1100 people! We transformed the iconic Jonas Bros Building into a full-spectrum playground of mind, body, and soul. Six dynamic discussion panels. Two immersive workshops. A powerful fireside chat. Breakout rooms buzzing with meetups and connection. Over 20 tables showcasing sponsors, vendors, and community partners. Food, elixirs, samples, and hands-on experiences kept the energy flowing. Art took center stage—live painters, body artists, digital installations, and projection mapping brought the space to life. And the music? ? Four DJs kept us moving all night long, culminating in a high-vibe Kat Walsh set that had the entire 3rd floor bouncing in unison. It wasn’t just an event—it was a mycelial network in motion. A celebration of conscious community, shared vision, and psychedelic possibility. This is what happens when the movement shows up in full force. ?

RECAP: “Remembering Our Kinship and Eco-Consciousness — An Evening with Dr. Brian Stafford”
|
|
|
Last week Dr. Brian Stafford, wilderness guide, eco-therapist, and poetic thinker, joined us at The District House to explore that very question. In conversation with Hannah Jo, and in deep dialogue with our community, Brian invited us into a truth so fundamental it’s often forgotten: we are nature. And the forgetting is not universal—it is cultural.
Western culture, he explained, is unique in its rupture from the natural world. Children are born with an innate ecological consciousness, a felt sense of kinship with the land, the animals, the elements. But this knowing is slowly eroded—by schooling, by economic systems, by family constructs shaped by disconnection and dominance.
In contrast, Indigenous and nature-based cultures never lose this ecological bond. They don’t speak about the Earth. They speak with it. To be in kin with fire, water, plants, and animals is not poetry—it’s lived reality. |

Podcast Spotlight: Jacob Tell on TrueLife — “A Digital Dionysus in the Age of Illusion”
|
|
| In a world saturated with soundbites and spiritual bypassing, the TrueLife Podcast is a howl from the underground — a battlefield of ideas where conformity dies and consciousness is forged in fire. And on May 20, 2025, our Chief Dreamer Jacob Tell stepped into the fire with host George for an episode that’s part ritual, part rebellion, and fully unforgettable.
? Episode Title: Jacob Tell – Digital Dionysus Drenched in Roses
? Hosted by: George, creator of TrueLife
? Platform: TrueLife Podcast
“If Terence McKenna, Steve Jobs, and the DMT elves held a hackathon in a Redwood Grove during a solar eclipse… the blueprint would look a lot like what Jacob’s building.” – George |
