Our community, coast, and planet deserve healthy ecosystems free from plastic pollution, and it’s up to all of us to rewrite the story.

Next week, the Community Environmental Council (CEC) and Santa Barbara Channelkeeper are excited to invite you to our 4th annual Plastic-Free Expo. The gathering will showcase local organizations, businesses, and government agencies committed to sharing practical, impactful ways to reduce plastic waste and embrace sustainable alternatives.

  • City of Goleta Environmental Services: Helping Goleta residents and businesses reduce waste and protect natural resources through local environmental programs

  • City of Santa Barbara Sustainability & Resilience: Driving forward climate action, zero waste, and clean energy initiatives to build a more resilient Santa Barbara

  • Community Environmental Council: advancing rapid and equitable solutions to the climate crisis, including plastic reduction efforts

  • County of Santa Barbara: Supporting countywide efforts to reduce single-use plastics and promote waste reduction through education, policy, and innovation

  • EcoStiks: Offering customizable, sustainable sticker patches that replace plastic with biodegradable and low-impact materials

  • Explore Ecology: Inspiring environmental stewardship through hands-on education about waste reduction

  • Heal the Ocean: A non-profit watchdog working to protect our ocean by addressing pollution at its source

  • Mission Refill: A Goleta-based refill shop offering everyday essentials without the plastic waste

  • Planet Protectors Santa Barbara: A community-driven group that empowers residents to take action against plastic pollution

  • Santa Barbara Channelkeeper: Protecting and restoring the Santa Barbara Channel through advocacy, education, and science-based water monitoring

  • Santa Barbara County Green Business Program: Recognizing and supporting local businesses that go above and beyond to reduce waste

  • Santa Barbara Green Guide: A collaboration between Bluedot Living Santa Barbara and the Santa Barbara Independent, showcasing sustainability efforts and inspiring action

  • @See_Drift Collective Art Making: A creative collective using art, storytelling, and reclaimed materials to explore our relationship with the ocean and consumption

  • Sunkissed Pantry: A Santa Barbara-based refill shop making it easy to shop sustainably

Polluters Pay Santa Barbara aims to build on the statewide momentum to pass the Polluters Pay Climate Superfund bill that has been introduced in California. The bill will take the burden off of taxpayers by making fossil fuel companies pay for their role in natural disasters fueled by climate change. Join us for an informational session on bill progress and tactics to advocate for legislation that will fund natural disaster recovery, resilience, and a clean energy transition in our communities.
