THOUSAND OAKS — Families are invited to a fun evening filled with music and dance at the 16th Annual Production of ‘Alice in Wonderland’ presented by the Agoura Hill Dance & Performing Arts Center on Sunday, June 24 at 7 pm. at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts, 2100 Thousand Oaks Boulevard.
The colorful, whimsical ballet will be set to the music of legendary Boston Pops Musical Composer, Leroy Anderson. Youth from Agoura Hills Dance will perform a wide variety of roles and will be joined by two professional dancers, Emily Simpson from the Pittsburg Ballet Theatre who will play the lead role of Alice and Jake Unger, also from the Pittsburg Ballet Theatre who will play the White Rabbit.

About the Guest Artists:
Emily Simpson
A Native of England, Emily grew up in China and Thailand and trained for two years with the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre School Graduate program before joining the company in 2015. Before moving to the United States, Simpson’s training spanned a number of international programs. She was an international trainee at the Vaganova Ballet Academy in Saint Petersburg, toured to China with the Goh Ballet Academy of Canada, trained at Chiang Mai Ballet academy of Thailand and the Nydza School of Dance and Performing arts in England. While abroad, she performed with the Mariinsky Ballet Theatre and the Hermitage Theatre with Vaganova Academy. Since joining the company, Simpson has performed as Marie in Terrence S. Orr’s The Nutcracker, in William Forsythe’s In the Middle, Somewhat Elevated and Ji?í Kylián’s Sinfonietta as well as many other roles in Giselle, Le Corsaire, Swan Lake, La Bayadère, Romeo and Juliet and George Balachine’s Western Symphony among others.
Jake Unger
Jake Unger joined Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre in 2014 from Houston Ballet II. Unger began his training at the California Dance Academy and went on to train with the Colburn School Professional Training Program, Yuri Grigoriev School of Ballet and Houston Ballet Academy. He has also completed summer intensive programs at the School of American Ballet and San Francisco School of Ballet. Since joining PBT, Unger has performed in Ji?í Kylián’s Petite Mort and Sinfonietta, James Kudelka’s The Man in Black and in productions of The Sleeping Beauty, Le Corsaire and Giselle among many others. He also has performed featured roles in Terrence S. Orr’s The Nutcracker as Arabian and Snow King.
