THOUSAND OAKS — The 68th Annual Conejo Valley Days (CVD) will feature 10 days of carnival rides, food and live entertainment. Dates are through June 30 (dark, June 24 and 25) at Conejo Creek Park South (23 Freeway/Janss Rd. exit) in Thousand Oaks.
Kastl Amusements will operate over 15 rides plus midway games for all ages at CVD as well as offer traditional fair and specialty foods. The Thousand Oaks Elks Club will be serving tri-tip sandwiches and other favorites.
This year, CVD is bringing back its “Whiskeroo Contest” Sunday, June 23 at 3:00 p.m. on the CVD Carnival Stage. To enter, call or text Steve Comstock, Whiskeroo Contest organizer, at 805-908-2248. Contestants will have an opportunity to show off their beards in one of five categories: Longest Beard, Softest Beard, Best Moustache, Best Goatee and Best Overall Beard.
CVD will also feature live entertainment including the Colette Lovejoy Band, 805 Social Club, The Tin Drum Family Band, Double Wide, Mike Scully and Zephyr Pilots.
“CVD is where you can enjoy great music, and food, and browse vendor booths. There are carnival rides, games and attractions for everyone,” says Frank Akrey, CVD president.
CVD entry is $10 per person and free for kids 10 and under. Active-duty military with military I.D. are free. CVD’s $40 unlimited ride wristbands are available for June 20 and June 27 only and can be purchased onsite. Discounted ride tickets (10 rides for $30) are available online when purchased before 3 p.m., June 20. Parking is $5 per vehicle. Drop-offs are encouraged. ATMs are on site. No credit or debit card payments are accepted for entry
Hours are Wednesdays and Thursdays, 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., Fridays, 5 p.m. to 11 p.m., Saturdays, 1 p.m. to 11 p.m. and Sundays, 1 p.m. to 9 p.m.
