Friday nights under the stars! Arts & Lectures’ annual FREE summer film series continues for 2024 with Sun, Surf and Cinema, seven nights of beach-inspired movies under the stars

    • Sun, Surf and Cinema, seven nights of beach-inspired movies under the stars, Friday nights through August 23 (no screening Friday, August 2 due to Fiesta)
    • Presented in association with the Santa Barbara County Office of Arts and Culture

    • Attendees can start setting up at noon (12 PM) on the day of the screening.
    • Please respect the lawn and your fellow filmgoers: only bring blankets that are permeable (no plastic/nylon/tarps) and chairs that are low-backed and low to the ground

    • Enjoy pre-screening fun with a live DJ set by DJ Darla Bea, raffle prizes and more

SANTA BARBARA — Get ready to make waves this summer with UCSB Arts & Lectures’ 2024 FREE summer films line-up: Sun, Surf and Cinema. The program continues with Hawaiian surf and romance in Blue Crush at the Santa Barbara County Courthouse Sunken Garden on Friday, July 26 at 8:30 pm.  Enjoy pre-screening festivities including a live set by DJ Darla Bea, raffle prizes and more.

ABOUT BLUE CRUSH

Nothing gets between Anne Marie (Kate Bosworth) and her board. Living in a beach shack with three roommates (Michelle Rodriguez, Sanoe Lake, Mika Boorem) including her rebellious younger sister, she is up before dawn every morning to conquer the waves, counting down the days until the Rip Masters surf competition. Anne Marie finds all she needs in the adrenaline-charged surf scene until pro quarterback Matt Tollman comes along. Like it or not, Anne Marie starts losing her balance as she falls for Matt.
