“Dauntless: The 1st and 2nd Filipino Infantry Regiments, U.S. Army, WWII” 

This author talk is FREE to attend. Please register to ensure seating is available for all.Join us in welcoming WWII historian and author, Marie Silva Vallejo for a FREE Author Talk on her book “Dauntless” on July 25th at the SLO Vets Hall, located at 801 Grand Avenue, San Luis Obispo, 93401.

Vallejo’s father served in the 1st and 2nd Filipino Infantry Regiments in the U.S. Army and the First Reconnaissance Battalion created by President Roosevelt. These units trained at military camps across the Central Coast of California, including Camp San Luis Obispo.

While researching for the book, Vallejo unpacked buried information on her father’s unit and their critical role in helping liberate the Philippines from the Japanese. Marie Silva Vallejo has a degree in Education and pursued graduate studies in Psychology, and has published multiple books.

Honor the service, duty, and courage of Filipinos and Americans who fought together during World War II against Japanese Imperialism in Asia, by exploring the history of these conflicts and the experiences of those involved.

This is a free author talk and book signing sponsored by the Central Coast Veterans Memorial Museum and the The Filipino Community of Greater San Luis Obispo County. The public is encouraged to attend. A limited number of books will be available for purchase at the event. You can also pre-purchase the book off Amazon to bring for the book signing.
