SANTA BARBARA — This year’s Feast for the Children has a new look. There was talk of canceling the annual event, due to Covid restrictions, until Via Maestra 42 owner and sponsor Renato Moiso stepped up and insisted “the Feast must go on”. So the host church, First United Methodist, will bag the 3-course Italian meal “to-go” and place bags into cars as they drive through the church parking lot.
The event takes place at First United Methodist Church, 305 E. Anapamu St., Sunday, January 31, from 11:30am – 2:30pm.
Over the years, beneficiaries of 100% of the ticket proceeds (all food and supplies costs are covered by Via Maestra 42 and local vendors) have ranged from Grace Children’s Hospital in Haiti, to Paradise Camp Fire victims, to our own Unity Shoppe, which was chosen once again as this year’s recipient due to the impact of the pandemic on local children and families.
To order and reserve a pickup time for the $25 3-course Italian meal, which includes choice of veggie or meat lasagna, organic mixed greens salad, ciabatta bread, and dessert, visit the event’s web page https://www.feastforthechildren.com, or call the church office M-F 9am to 1pm at (805)963-3579
