OXNARD — Interesting and captivating speakers are scheduled every third Wednesday at the Channel Islands Maritime Museum, 3900 Bluefin Circle, Oxnard. Refreshments are at 6:30 p.m., with the lectures at 7.
Next Speaker is January 15 Paul Swanson – Pleasure Boat Sailor “A Boater’s Guide to the Incredible Channel Islands.” Come and take an armchair tour of one of the best-kept secrets in Southern California. Over nearly forty years of visiting the Channel Islands National Park by private boat, Dr. Paul Swanson has built a vast knowledge and photographic history of the islands. You will learn about popular anchorages on the five northern Channel Islands as well as see some of the interior sights that are not easily accessible.

Operating hours are M/Th-Sat 10-4 pm, Sun 12-4 pm and closed Tues/Wed for group tours and private member events. Groups of ten or more can be accommodated with 48-hours’ notice. Admission rates are free for members and children under 6, $7 adults, $5 seniors (62 plus)/military and their families/students any age with valid ID, and $3 children (ages 6-17).
