Jan. 15 — District 216 to present ‘Myth and Microdose: Archetypal Journeys to Explore Your Mind’ with Dr. Kathy Gruver, other upcoming events

Supporting our First Responders

Our hearts go out to everyone affected by the devastating fires in Los Angeles. We stand with the victims, their families, and the brave first responders who continue to risk their lives to protect our communities.

We know the toll of this work goes beyond the physical—many first responders face significant trauma and mental health challenges. At District216, we are committed to raising awareness of the potential of psychedelic-assisted therapy as a path to healing PTSD and trauma for those who give so much for us.

Together, we can create a future where every first responder has access to the care and support they need.

If you’d like to find support resources for first responders, visit First Responder Support Network (FRSN.org). We also encourage you to explore the Fireside Project (firesideproject.org), a free support line offering compassionate, peer-to-peer support for those navigating challenging experiences, including trauma.

RECAP:  Psychedelics for Chronic Pain: A Game-Changer with Kevin & Bob

When Bob and Kevin asked, “How many of you suffer from chronic pain?” and “How many of you know someone who does?” more than half the hands in the room shot up—an emotional reminder of just how pervasive and debilitating these conditions can be. Chronic pain isn’t just a statistic; it’s a lived reality for so many of us.

Bob and Kevin delved into the promising use of psychedelics like psilocybin, LSD, and DMT in moderate doses—not microdoses and not macrodoses—to mitigate severe conditions like cluster headaches, which are often called “suicide headaches” due to their excruciating intensity. They shared insights into the Mechanisms of Action that these substances are believed to activate in the brain, explaining how they help break pain cycles, improve neuroplasticity, and reduce inflammation.
