‘Internalized Racisim’ topic of Jan. 25 UCSB discussion

The discussion “Internalized Racism” with Jacquelyn Reza, part of the Race Matters Series, will be presented at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 25 at the UCSB Multicultural Center, in the MCC Lounge, Santa Barbara.

All of us struggle with internalized racism and carry in some way the “thousand little cuts” of racism, the center reported in a media release. During our time together we will spend time unpacking the impact internalized racism has on our lives, focusing on how we can heal our hearts and continue our service to our world. Join us for a discussion and support as we empower ourselves.

Jacquelyn Reza is the director of Professional & Organizational Development at De Anza College and teaches Human Sexuality, Women’s Studies, and Intercultural Studies. She also teaches part-time in the Department of International and Multicultural Education Doctoral Program at the University of San Francisco.
