OXNARD — The Inlakech Cultural Arts Center will present the final free Saturday Día de los Muertos workshop on Oct. 25 in Oxnard.
The workshop isin preparation for the 7th annual Dia de los Muertos celebration on Saturday, Nov. 1 at the Conejo Mountain Funeral Home, Memorial Park & Crematory in Camarillo.
The workshop will include finishing up craft art projects, altar design and construction, from noon to 2 p.m. at the Senior Center, 126 Amelia Court, Oxnard.
The 7th annual Dia de los Muertos celebration will be held from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 1 at 2052 Howard Road, Camarillo.
This year’s theme is “Siguiendo Nuestras Tradiciones” (Continuing our Traditions).
“Come and observe the traditional altars from Mexico and especially from the Mixteco-Oaxaca Communities, and how these traditions are maintained in the United States and showcased for this special event,” the memorial park reported. “Come enjoy the renowned world class, special musical guest performers “Yodoquinsi” coming directly from Cuernavaca, Mexico, thanks to the assistance of the Mexican Consulate … Join us on this most memorable celebration with the community, live music and cultural performances, vendor booths, arts and crafts, and authentic Latino foods.”
