Community March, Speakers, and Live Music Calling for Accountability and Community Safety

SANTA MARIA — A community-led action brought together grassroots organizers, rapid response volunteers, youth leaders, and musicians to stand in solidarity against ongoing immigration enforcement violence across the Central Coast  during the ICE OUT 805 Solidarity Concert/March on Jan. 15, 2025 in Santa Maria, representatives of the 805UNDOCFUND reported on their Facebook page.

Led by those carrying a banner that read “ICE OUT OF CALIFORNIA” the protesters marched down the residential streets in Santa Maria calling for the end of ICE activities in the region.

Across the Central Coast, immigrant communities live under the shadow of ongoing ICE activity—fear that fractures families and wounds the spirit. In this concert, we turn to what sustains us. Music and culture becomes our food, it feeds us the strength to continue the work of resistance. Joy carries us through hard times, reminding us that even in struggle, we are alive and moving. When we come together in community, our voices braided as one, we remember a living truth: Solo el Pueblo Salva al Pueblo—Only the People save the People, 805UNDOCFUND reported.

This Solidarity Concert is both a call for accountability and an affirmation of our collective right to gather, to celebrate our cultures, and to claim joy as an act of resistance. By filling public spaces with music, movement, and community, we reject fear and isolation and instead choose solidarity, dignity, and care. Our joy, our culture, and our collective presence are powerful forms of resistance—and reminders that community-led safety and liberation are built together.
