Hospice of Santa Barbara Provides Community Gathering Space to Those Affected by Jan. 9 Storm

SANTA BARBARA — In light of the devastating events that occurred during the Jan. 9 mudslide, Hospice of Santa Barbara is providing counseling services to individuals and families who may be struggling during this difficult time.

In addition to collaborating closely with schools, first responders, governmental agencies, and the Red Cross, Hospice of Santa Barbara is also providing a Community Gathering Space for those in need of support as they process the tragic events of this week.

Trained counselors will be on hand at Hospice of Santa Barbara, located at 2050 Alameda Padre Serra Suite 100, and will be available to discuss families’ experiences with the natural disaster. They can also provide consultations on Hospice of Santa Barbara’s short and long-term counseling services.

All community members are welcome to come to our gathering space, share their experiences, and process their feelings about the devastation. The Community Gathering Space will be open today, Jan. 12, through next Friday, Jan. 19 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

“We have a long road ahead of us, but Hospice of Santa Barbara is dedicated to helping the community heal, one day at a time,” said David Selberg, CEO of Hospice of Santa Barbara.

Hospice of Santa Barbara’s staff would like to remind the community that all of our services are offered to individuals and families free of charge and are also available in Spanish.
