Guadalupe Union School District — Kermit McKenzie Intermediate School Promotion

GUADALUPE — About 150 Kermit McKenzie Intermediate School students will take their GUSD educational careers to the next level after they are promoted to high school on Tuesday, June 2.

There will be no physical graduation. Instead, a graduation video will include pictures of students and activities as well as encouraging words from current and former teachers. This video will be shared via email, ParentSquare, Social Media, and the school website

“COVID-19 has drastically impacted the way in which schools are able to honor and celebrate students,’’ said Bobcat Principal Alex Jauregui. “Due to the specific mandates that are currently in place, our teachers and staff had to come up with a unique and unorthodox way to celebrate the success of our 8th graders at McKenzie. We’ve decided to create a video that highlights our students’ tenure at McKenzie with pictures that will take them down memory lane to show them where they’ve been and help them get ready for the future in high school. ”

The Guadalupe Union School District has more than 1,400 students. The majority will attend Righetti High School.
