GranVida Educates Community on Memory Care Services. Walk to End Alzheimer’s to be held Oct. 1

gran-vidaCARPINTERIA — Most seniors expect to live out their lives enjoying time with their families and making more memories to cherish, however more than 5 million Americans are affected by Alzheimer’s disease, leaving them dependent on others to help them in their everyday lives. A new field of advancement called memory care is a distinct treatment that offers long-term care that is specifically for Alzheimer’s disease.

GranVida, Carpinteria’s first senior assisted living and memory care community, offers memory care suites with highly-trained, 24-hour personalized caregivers. Residents will have a variety of calendar-tailored activities to engage their individual cognitive abilities and physical activities that improve mobility, strength as well as overall wellness.

“Memory care has really revolutionized the way we look at treatments for those with Alzheimer’s,” said Teri Conklin, Vice President of Seniority, Inc. “The GranVida community in Carpinteria offers high quality and engaging life enrichment programs that will help your loved ones get the quality care that they need.”

GranVida will be one of the sponsors of the Walk to End Alzheimer’s, a fundraiser for the local Alzheimer’s Association. GranVida will be on hand at the conclusion of the walk to answer questions and provide literature.

“We believe in the importance of not only finding a cure for Alzheimer’s but the care that goes into helping those who are affected by this disease,” said Conklin.

The walk will be held on Oct. 1 at Oxnard’s premier retail center, The Collection at Riverpark.
