Girls Inc. of Carpinteria Welcomes Two New Board Members

CARPINTERIAGirls Inc. of Carpinteria is pleased to welcome two new members to its Board of Trustees, Katie Convoy and Eric Neuron.

“Katie and Eric bring extensive expertise in fundraising, business and management to our board, along with a passion for empowering youth to succeed,” said Jamie Collins, executive director of Girls Inc. Carpinteria. “We look forward to working with them to advance the Girls Inc. mission and ensure that Carpinteria and Santa Paula girls can reach their greatest potential.”

Katie Convoy serves as the director of annual giving at Cate School in Carpinteria. She has spent the last seven years working in educational advancement, and brings an expertise in fundraising, stewardship and strategic planning to the Girls Inc. of Carpinteria Board. Prior to joining Cate, Convoy was associate director of development at The Buckley School in Sherman Oaks, where she assisted with three major capital campaigns and led numerous annual giving cycles.

A native Angeleno, Convoy holds a dual bachelor’s degree in women’s studies and communication from Loyola Marymount University and is currently pursuing her master’s in communication at Johns Hopkins University. She has a deep passion for empowerment of young women and has moderated clubs, retreats and classes for girls and young women in middle school through college. Outside of the fundraising world, Convoy – an avid sports fan – moonlights as an NCAA statistician for UCSB men’s and women’s basketball.

Eric Neuron is president and general manager of Lost Arrow Project, a subsidiary of Patagonia Works that creates special-purpose clothing and gear for the men and women of the US Armed Forces. He has been with Patagonia for over ten years and has played a key role in developing several of the company’s new business ventures and special market strategies during his tenure.

Neuron attended UCSB and holds degrees in environmental law and philosophy. Originally from Ojai, he moved from Santa Barbara to Carpinteria with his family in 2004. Prior to joining the board, Neuron served on the Girls Inc. of Carpinteria facilities committee for two years. He also currently serves as vice president of the Board of Directors of the Howard School, where his children attend.
