A custom van with a special van wrap mural was donated by Barber Ford in Ventura to the Robert Garcia Boxing Academy during a ceremony held Feb. 3 at the academy in Oxnard.
The van will be used for transporting youth from the academy to boxing tournaments.
When management of the car dealership heard of the work Garcia has done for the youth in the community and his effort to keep the youth off the street, they decided to help with transportation by supplying the van, Joe Chavez, Barber’s finance manager reported in a media release.
Chavez and Gil Alcala, general manager, turned over the keys to former world champ and owner of the gym Robert Garcia and the youth.
