VENTURA COUNTY — With many structured physical activities still shutdown because of the pandemic, the Southeast Ventura County YMCA is hosting daily online fitness classes for all ages. The classes are offered at no cost to the community. No advance reservations and no YMCA membership are required.

Instructors from the three local branches, Conejo Valley YMCA, Simi Valley Family YMCA and Yarrow Family YMCA, conduct the live classes on Zoom.

Youth classes range from preschool fun time to “Fit Kids” workouts to hip hop dance lessons. For adults, classes include yoga, total body conditioning, cardio workout, tai chi, boot camp and Zumba. Classes are held Mondays through Saturdays and are 30 minutes to 1 hour long.

Classes will remain free and online until programs can resume at all YMCA locations.

“It is important for adults and kids to exercise in the summer months even if they cannot enjoy their normal summer activities,” says Megan Glynn, Chief Development Officer for the YMCA. “Participating in online classes not only keeps us in shape but also enables us to stay connected.”

The full online class schedule and links to individual classes are at www.sevymca.org/onlineclasses. Participants click on the “Join Class” link just before the class begins to be connected.
