Through April 10 — Camarillo Hospice is Offering a 10 Week Support Group for Bereaved Parents

CAMARILLO — Camarillo Hospice, a Program of Livingston Memorial Visiting Nurse Association, is pleased to offer a 10-week, closed-ended grief support group program, Understanding Your Grief, written by author, educator and grief counselor, Alan D. Wolfelt, PhD. The program is intended to companion you on your own unique grief journey. Classes are offered at the following locations:

Tuesdays 6:30 to 8:00 pm through April 10th at Camarillo Hospice 400 Rosewood Ave., Suite 102, Camarillo.

Wednesdays 10:00 to 11:30 am at St. Matthews United Methodist Church, 1360 S. Wendy Dr, Newbury Park, CA 91320

Registration required. Space is limited. Weekly topics:

  • Week One: Introduction to 10 Touchstones and Open to the Presence of Your Loss Week
  • Two: Dispel the Misconceptions about Grief Week
  • Three: Embrace the Uniqueness of Your Grief
  • Week Four: Explore Your Feelings of Loss
  • Week Five: Recognize You Are Not Crazy
  • Week Six: Understand the Six Needs of Mourning
  • Week Seven: Nurture Yourself
  • Week Eight: Reach Out for Help
  • Week Nine: Seek Reconciliation, Not Resolution
  • Week Ten: Appreciate Your Transformation and Closing Discussions

  • Good Grief Club and Teenage Grief Support Groups 1st and 3rd Tuesday of every month
  • Caring for You, the Caregiver 1st and 3rd Wednesday 1:00 to 2:30 pm
  • General Bereavement Support Group: Healing after the Loss of a Loved One Wednesdays 1:00 to 2:30 pm and Thursdays 6:00-7:30 pm
  • Survivors of Suicide Support Group: 1st and 3rd Wednesday of every month 6:30 to 8:00 pm
  • Reinvesting in Life after Loss of a Loved One: 2ndand 4th Thursdays 3:00 to 4:30 pm
  • Adult Loss of Parent Support Group: 1st and 3rd Thursday of every month 6:00 to 7:30 pm
  • Healing Grief through Journaling February 6th-March13th 10:30 to 12:00 pm

All Camarillo Hospice support groups are committed to maintaining an open, accepting, confidential atmosphere. The groups are free of charge and are held at 400 Rosewood Avenue, Suite 102, Camarillo.
