Feb. 28 — PR Pros to Share Expertise on Making Events an Experience

OXNARD — The California Gold Coast chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) will host a panel of event public relations and marketing professionals at its February meeting. “Transforming Your Event into an Experience” will be held from 8-9:30 a.m. February 28 at California Lutheran University’s Oxnard Campus, 2201 Outlet Center Drive in Oxnard.

In the public relations field, most PR practitioners have to promote (and sometimes plan) an event. The process can be overwhelming. This panel will provide helpful insights and tips for event marketing and public relations to make nonprofit and for-profit events a success. Topics will include the planning phase, defining your audience, how to make your event unique, marketing elements to consider, and PR tools such as calendar listings, media interviews, contests, and more.

All three panelists have extensive knowledge and experience in the event planning and public relations field.

Panelists include Kellie Meehan, owner and chief creative strategist for Searle Creative who oversees marketing and p.r. for the Oxnard Salsa Festival and the Port of Hueneme Banana Festival; Diane Rumbaugh, owner of Rumbaugh Public Relations and p.r. consultant for Conejo Valley Days, the Oxnard Salsa Festival, and the Ventura County Farm Day; and Lisa Carey, owner of Lisa Carey Public Relations who oversaw all aspects of marketing and p.r. for the California Strawberry Festival for more than 20 years.

Tickets range from $10.00 for students with ID, $20.00 for PRSA members, and $30.00 for non-members. For more information visit the PRSA Gold Coast website at https://www.prsagoldcoast.org/ or contact Nancy Mayerson, PRSA chapter president, at nancy@mayersonmarketing.com or 805-373-1100, ext. 4.
