CARPENTERIA — The Lynda Fairly Carpinteria Arts Center will present “An Economy of Grace” at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 17 at 855 Linden Ave., Carpinteria.
In the 1970s, Kehinde Wiley was inspired to become an artist by childhood visits to the Huntington library outside of Los Angeles.
In 2018, he painted President Obama’s entry to the National Portrait Gallery.
This film follows his project of classical portraits of African-American women in 18th/19th century poses whom were street-cast in 21st century New York City.
