VENTURA — Community members are invited to attend Pop-Up in the Park with Community Development, a new outreach series designed to meet community members in neighborhood spaces for casual, in-person conversations.

The first event will take place on Friday, February 13, from 4:00–6:00 p.m. at Cemetery Memorial Park.

These pop-up events provide an informal opportunity to connect with Community Development staff, ask questions, and learn more about topics such as development, permit services, housing, and ongoing projects throughout the City of Ventura.

“Our team leads nearly 50 formal public meetings each year, and these Pop-Up in the Park events give us a chance to meet residents where they are,” said Maruja Clensay, Assistant Community Development Director. “We hope these events create an open, approachable space that makes it easier for people to stop by, share concerns, ask questions, and help guide the work we do in the community.”

The Community Development Department is responsible for planning and zoning, building and safety, permit services, code enforcement, housing services, and redevelopment. The department supports City Council strategic priorities by advancing projects and policies that promote housing opportunities, safety, and long-term community planning.

Residents of all ages are encouraged to stop by, say hello, and participate. No registration is required.
