CAMARILLO — In order to provide some deserving relief for the Thomas Fire survivors, Willem Hair Design is partnering with Rouge Salon in The Collection at RiverPark and The Craft Barber Shop in Camarillo by organizing a fundraising event on Sunday, February 11 from 12 to 4 pm. At the Willem Hair Design, 96 E. Daily Drive, Camarillo.
The three salons will be providing free haircuts in exchange for donations. Raffle tickets will also be available for purchase leading up to the event. 100% of the proceeds will be given to the Ventura Chapter of Teen Challenge. Thomas Fire based t-shirts will also be available for purchase at the event in addition to snow cones and cotton candy for the kids.
According to officials, the Teen Challenge campus was selected as the recipient of the fundraising efforts since the campus lost one third of its facility to the fire, which was the dormitory where the female residents resided. Since the fire, the residents have been relocated to Bakersfield while their facility is rebuilt.
“With the girls having to relocate, this has impacted their ability to raise funds for the program,” stated Brandy of Willem Hair Salon. “By offering this fundraising event, our goal is to make sure that the girls have a program to come back to once they return,” she added.
