NEW MASKING REQUIREMENTS FOR BUSINESSES

Current Requirements for Businesses
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention:
On July 27, 2021, the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) issued new masking guidance for fully vaccinated individuals in substantial or high transmission areas. This information can be tracked HERE.
UPDATED: California Department of Public Health:
As of January 5, 2022, the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) updated their Guidance for the Use of Face Coverings, continuing the requirement for universal masking indoors, irrespective of vaccine status, statewide from December 15, 2021, through February 15, 2022.
Information for Mega Events:
  • Indoor mega events (crowds greater than 1,000 attendees) now require vaccination verification or proof of negative testing. Self-attestation may not be used to verify status as fully vaccinated or as proof of negative test result for indoor settings.
  • Outdoor mega events (crowds greater than 10,000 attendees) recommend vaccination verification or proof of negative testing. For outdoor settings, it is recommended not to use self-attestation to verify status as fully vaccinated or as proof of negative test result.

Information by County:
  • Ventura County: On October 18, 2021 the County of Ventura Health Officer issued a new Health Officer Order continuing the requirement that everyone, regardless of vaccination status, wear masks indoors in public places. This order will remain in effect until specific requirements are met or until the Order is extended, rescinded, superseded or amended in writing by the Health Officer.   • UPDATED: Santa Barbara County: As of January 2, 2022 the County of Santa Barbara Health Office issued a new Health Officer Order continuing the requirement for all individuals in the County of Santa Barbara whether vaccinated or unvaccinated to wear a Face Covering at all times in all Indoor Public Settings, and while inside any Business, with limited exemptions, and recommends that Businesses make face coverings available to individuals entering the Business. This Order applies in the incorporated and unincorporated areas of Santa Barbara County (“County”). T”). This order is in effect until February 1, 2022, or until it is revised, rescinded, superseded, or amended by the Health Officer.  CLICK HERE for more information.
  • UPDATED: Los Angeles County: On January 6, 2022 the County of Los Angeles Health Officer issued a Health Officer Order continuing to require indoor masking by all, regardless of vaccination status, to slow the spread of COVID-19 in Los Angeles County. This order will remain in effect until it is revised, rescinded, superseded, or amended by the Health Officer.CLICK HERE for more information.
Employers are still required to comply with Cal/OSHA COVID-19 Prevention – Emergency Temporary Standards requirements.
