VENTURA — E.P. Foster Library presents “California’s Water Crisis and Solutions” with engineer and local author Mohammed A. Hasan from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 9 at the E.P. Foster Library, 651 E. Main St., Ventura, Topping Room.
“There is a water crisis in California and with the current drought and the strong possibility of climate change impacting our weather patterns, it’s time to reimagine solutions for solving this crisis. A 42-year resident of Ventura County, Hasan has authored a book that offers a brief synopsis of the problem and how humans have contributed greatly to our water shortages. But beyond doomsday thinking, there are technological solutions that can solve the water shortage and help people feel empowered to participate in these solutions. From crisis to action, citizens, engineers, scientists, water managers, policy makers, planners and politicians — everyone can participate by using some of these ideals to solve California’s water shortage problem. His solutions can sustainably drought-proof California.”
Admission is free, with refreshments and a book signing starting at 3:15 p.m.
