SANTA MARIA — A romantic comedy set in a fictional community, “Almost, Maine” will be performed by actors from Righetti, Pioneer Valley and Orcutt Academy high schools on December 7th, 8th, and 9th.

Opening night will be interpreted for the deaf and hearing-impaired audiences. All shows start at 7 p.m. inside Righetti’s Black Box Theatre, room 403. Tickets are $6 for students and $8 for adults.

“This is truly a show for all,’’ said Drama and Art Teacher Elesa Carlson. “We have taken a favorite play and made it our own. But don’t take my word for it, come out and enjoy a wintery treat. Supporting the arts in our community is a gift for all involved.’’

Student Directors Grace Kitchen and Shea Turner said the unique play agreed.

“I’m so proud of our little cast and honored I was given the opportunity to direct alongside one of my best friends,’’ Turner said.

Deaf actress Lisbeth Mendoza signed: “It has been a really fun experience. When I heard about the auditions, I thought it was something I would like to try because I’ve never done anything like this.’’
