Dec. 5 — Don’t Miss the Final Climate Fridays SB of 2025!

Celebrate Goleta’s Climate Wins at the final Climate Fridays SB of 2025!

Hear updates on trail expansion, bike access, battery storage, and more.

Friday, December 5, 3:30 – 5:30 p.m.

CEC’s Environmental Hub

1219 State St., Santa Barbara

Join CEC, the Society of Fearless Grandmothers Santa Barbara, and the Santa Barbara Sierra Club for the final Climate Fridays SB of the year. Come celebrate Goleta’s sustainability wins, connect with fellow climate champions, and wrap up a year of impact and inspiration.

We’ll hear from City of Goleta Sustainability Manager Dana Murray about advancing strong regional policies, as well as City of Goleta Council Member Stuart Kasdin who will discuss trail connectors, expansions and biking access. Clean Coalition’s Craig Lewis will also join us to share a Goleta battery storage facility update.

We aim to create a space where individuals can learn about regional climate change issues, take action together, and collaborate to protect our planet. You’re invited to stay after for a networking happy hour (complete with holiday cookies and beverages)!

Looking Ahead: Climate Fridays SB continues in 2026!

Join us for our January 9 gathering, which will include a CEC partner resource fair and plenty of time to network.

Become a Resilience Hub and Help Your Community Prepare for Disasters

The California Central Coast faces growing challenges from extreme heat, wildfire smoke, flooding, and poor air quality. Community resilience hubs — trusted local spaces like schools, libraries, community centers, and churches — can provide aid and resources before, during, and after these events. CEC can help activate your site to:

  1. Provide clean air during smoke events

  2. Act as cooling locations during extreme heat

  3. Distribute food

  4. Serve as an emergency shelter or hub for emergency services

  5. Facilitate disaster preparedness training and neighborhood organizing

  6. Host off-grid charging during power outages or shutdowns
