WESTLAKE VILLAGE — The 2nd Annual Holidays in the Village, A European Marketplace will take place Sunday, December 4 from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Lakeview Canyon Road and Agoura Road (adjacent to Stonehaus) in Westlake Village. It is hosted by the two Rotary Clubs of Westlake Village–Sunrise and Noon—and the City of Westlake Village.

The festival features food, drink, music, kids’ activities, and artisan and craft vendors–all with a traditional European flair. Last year was the first time the event was held. It attracted more than 8,500 visitors.

“Our first Holidays in the Village was a huge success. The community welcomed an outdoor winter holiday event where they could shop, eat and be entertained in a wonderfully warm and friendly atmosphere. A European village setting is perfect for friends and families to gather,” says Erin Culbertson, Marketplace chair.

Visitors can shop for unique holiday gifts offered by 60 artisan vendors. They can browse a large cross-section of items, from chocolates to alpaca yarn to homemade candles, succulents, glass ornaments and curated gift baskets.

“If you’re looking for the perfect gift for a family member or friend, you’ll find it at the Village,” says Culbertson. “Many of the items are handcrafted and are one-of-a-kind.”

The European Marketplace features a variety of traditional European foods, baked goods and beverages including mugs of warm mulled wine, Kinderpunsch, selected wines from Stonehaus and Wade Wines and specialty crafted brews from local breweries Tarantula Hill, 14 Cannons Brewery, Five Threads, Enegren Brewing Company and Naughty Pine Brewing Company. There will be lots of apple cider and hot cocoa too. New this year is Le French Quarter serving champagne, mimosas, baked croissants and pastries.

Carolers and live music will entertain visitors throughout the day and evening. Kris Kringle’s Village features plenty of children’s activities and crafts plus Kris Kringle himself, a festive Grinch and a holiday-themed village train.

The Southeast Ventura County YMCA is hosting a “find the bear” scavenger hunt for kids during the Marketplace.

Holidays in the Village, A European Marketplace community partners include Logix Federal Credit Union, Storm-Larsen & Company, Ventura County Credit Union, Home Helpers, Rosemary Allison, AvailableWarehouses.com, Southern California Edison, Pedego, The Acorn, UCLA Health, UBS, Spar & Sons Investments, Stonehaus and the Los Angeles Kings.

Lakeview Canyon Road and portions of Agoura Road will be closed during the event. Admission and parking are free. Proceeds support local nonprofits. For more information including sponsorship opportunities, go to http://www.HolidaysInTheVillage.org or email info@holidaysinthevillage.org
