CAMARILLO — United Way of Ventura County invites the community to participate in its 22ndannual “Day of Caring” on Saturday, Oct. 1, the organization reported Tuesday in a media release.
Most projects are from 9 a.m. to noon with afternoon projects available as well. This event will bring together teams and individual volunteers to help nonprofit organizations in the community with a variety of tasks.
Many projects are even geared toward families and youth groups for children of all ages to make a difference and are available in cities throughout Ventura County. United Way is seeking 720 volunteers to help 20 community organizations across Ventura County. Day of Caring will be a fun, free and easy way for individuals, families, and teams to work together to create real change in the community.
Some of this year’s volunteer projects will include:
> Sorting food at food banks and pantries.
> Painting and freshening up living spaces.
> Helping young children with literacy & craft projects.
