CAMARILLO — CSU Channel Islands was scheduled to reopen Sunday, May 5 at 5 p.m., with immediate access to the Library, dining services and student housing. Classes and activities will begin on Monday, May 6, university officials reported in a media release.
The university has cleaned the interior of all buildings and is pumping fresh air into all usable buildings and living spaces. Clean-up of the campus will continue over several weeks; however, the smell of smoke may continue to be present. Students who live on campus should check with Housing staff and University employees should check with their supervisor for questions or concerns.
Students who live on campus and plan to take public transportation on Sunday to the Camarillo or Oxnard Metrolink Stations will be able to take a free shuttle to the University. Students who need to take the shuttle should contact Cindy Derrico at cindy.derrico@csuci.edu.
