Community Honorees Announced for 1st Annual Supervisorial Leadership & Excellence Awards

Thousand Oaks, CA – Ventura County Supervisor Jeff Gorell is proud to announce the honorees of the 1st Annual Supervisorial Leadership and Excellence Awards, a signature event recognizing extraordinary individuals whose leadership, dedication and compassion have made a lasting impact across Ventura County’s District 2.

The awards ceremony will take place on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, from 5:00–7:00 PM at the Amgen campus in Thousand Oaks. This inaugural celebration will honor “Great Navigators” those who have shown excellence in Public Safety, Education, Prosperity and Economy, Conservation and Environmentalism and Community Leadership.

All proceeds from this year’s event will benefit Mountain Fire recovery efforts, in partnership with the Ventura County Community Foundation, directly supporting families and communities as they rebuild from the devastating wildfire.

“This event is about celebrating the everyday heroes among us—the people who lead with heart, courage, and a deep commitment to community service,” said Supervisor Jeff Gorell. “Each of these awardees reminds us what it means to serve others, to lead with vision, and to rise in the face of challenges. I invite our entire community to join us in honoring their incredible contributions.”

Amgen, a global leader in biotechnology focused on fighting some of the world’s toughest diseases, will host the inaugural awards ceremony.

“Amgen is proud to host the inaugural Supervisorial Leadership and Excellence Awards, celebrating the individuals and organizations making meaningful impact across Ventura County, a place Amgen has proudly called home for more than 40 years,” said Chad Pettit, Executive Director, Government Affairs, Amgen. “We believe deeply in the power of community and are honored to support initiatives that uplift and strengthen our region—especially this year, as we stand with the Mountain Fire victims and support those rebuilding their lives.”
