County of Santa Barbara November Holiday Closures

County Offices will be closed the following days in November:

Monday, November 11 (Veterans Day)
Thursday, November 28 through Friday, November 29 (Thanksgiving Holiday)

It’s Animal Shelter Appreciation Week

The people in shelters are also community champions, educating the public about responsible pet ownership, promoting spay/neuter programs, and working tirelessly to reduce pet overpopulation. Whether it’s staying late to comfort a frightened animal, organizing adoption events, or collaborating with local organizations to assist pet owners in need, the human touch turns a shelter into a hub of kindness and advocacy. Their work makes the shelter much more than a facility—it becomes a beacon of hope and a critical resource that strengthens the bond between animals and the community.The first full week of November is recognized as Animal Shelter Appreciation Week. Let’s take a moment to recognize the incredible dedication and hard work of the staff and volunteers serving pets and people across the County. Thank you!
