‘Connecting the Oaxacan Communities’ talk set for May 24 in Ventura

The Ventura County Community Foundation, the Fundación Comunitaria Oaxaca and the International Community Foundation will present the “Connecting the Oaxacan Communities” panel presentation from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, May 24 at the Museum of Ventura County, 100 E. Main St., Ventura.

Through the lens of the “Threads of Life'” exhibit at the museum, the groups will examine the impact of international philanthropy and the role that artisans play in local economic development.

Panel members include representatives from the International Community Foundation, the Oaxacan Community Foundation, the Museum of Ventura County and the Mixteco/Indigena Community Organizing Project (MICOP).

Presented in partnership with Destino: The Hispanic Legacy Fund, ArtsLIVE in Ventura County, the Martin V. Smith School of Busienss and Economics and MICOP.
