Community Environmental Council — 2025 is the year for climate leadership!

Build Your Climate Confidence.

CEC’s next Climate Stewards Course Begins on January 28.

CEC’s Climate Stewards certification program is designed to foster connection, confidence, and inspiration for grassroots climate action. Gain the tools and support to tackle climate impacts in your life, work, and community. Let’s work together for a sustainable future — the climate movement needs YOU!

Our Climate Stewards program empowers participants to play an active role in their community to advance rapid and equitable solutions to the climate crisis. Together, our community of 200-strong Climate Steward alumni are leading climate justice initiatives and pushing forward thousands of local solutions.

The next cohort starts January 28, 2025. Now is the perfect time to invest in your future, and the future of our planet!

Anyone can be a Climate Steward!

Arya was inspired by her experience in the Climate Stewards program to take her science communication career to the next level. She’s using the skills and confidence gained through the course to create zines focused on nature and climate issues, develop and lead youth zine-making workshops, and create a public archive of environment-themed zines. Arya’s goal is to make climate science more welcoming and accessible to a diverse audience and build community to strengthen climate resilience and action.

“The Climate Stewards course offered me a way to really dive into how I want to evolve my voice as a science communicator, as well as develop my illustration style,” says Arya. “The connections, resources, and support of the CEC team gave me opportunities to continue working on my project even after the course.”

Arya enjoyed her time in CEC’s Climate Stewards program so much that she returned last fall as a Teaching Assistant! We are thrilled to welcome her skills and enthusiasm to our team.
