VENTURA COUNTY — What began in 1971 as a way to improve the lives of the medically underserved population across Ventura County has evolved into one of the largest healthcare systems on the Central Coast. In healthcare, staying on the cutting edge is more than just utilizing the best technology and medicine. When asked what it takes to grow an organization like Clinicas’ to where it is today CEO Roberto S. Juarez responds, “…I believe in self-determination not just for me as a person but for the community that I represent as a whole. This belief is what defines me and the work I do for Clinicas.” Throughout his many years of tireless service Clinicas’ CEO has made it a point to advance social justice within the healthcare system, and our society, for all underserved people.
As Clinicas celebrates fifty years of uninterrupted healthcare services, we take this opportunity to affirm and honor its commitment of intervening in matters that impact the health and well-being of our community. Clinicas del Camino Real, Inc. will continue to re-imagine, and implement, new and creative systems and take the necessary steps to create solutions, resolutions, and roadmaps that save lives and restore your path to good health by analyzing and identifying processes and systems that spread disease, injustice, and inequity. This is, and has always been, the driving force behind Clinicas; the vision and desire for change!
For many, 2020 marked the year of “perfect vision” and the beginning of a new decade. This new beginning brought its own set of social and political challenges that, to this day, capture the attention and occupy the lives of our community. The ever present and demanding health emergency created by the COVID-19 pandemic has provided our society the clarity to better understand the need to provide a safe space for culturally competent access to healthcare for ALL patients regardless of race, national origin, religion, sex, gender identity & expression, sexual orientation, age, ability, economic level, or political beliefs. While the future may seem uncertain, we’re not letting that stop us in 2021.
